Echo & The Bunnymen - Some Rarities 1979-1985

All praise is due to SFRP and AlienOnAcid for this beauty. Of course, long time readers/friends will know of my love for the Bunnymen and Ian solo - so no surprise, like a dog to it's own vomit, I return. Bad analogy. Anyways, I almost jumped out of my oh-so comfortable seat (and pants) when I saw this one available at SFRP and was so very happy with the sound and collation of this package. Loaded with rare 7" versions and B-Sides and non-album tracks - this thing is sure to please and make X-Mas great for any Bunnymen fan. Please enjoy and share the music, it IS the season, after all.

You call those rarities? Most are available on the Crystal Days Box Set, with the exception of "My Heart Is Overflowing" which is an unreleased gem. Would love to see you include Mac's cover of Heroes, or maybe him doing "Light My Fire" from the Limerick Ireland Setlist.

Thanks for the MP3s anyways. Cheers!

I agree, Anonymous - but most folks don't have the Crystal Days Box Set, right? The idea is to start the people off with a taste of something they might not be familiar with and then graduate to the larger sets if it's something they enjoy. That's my philosophy here.

Thank you for the great blog.

I'm not sure if the Bunny's are bigger now than before or if the same fans are still loving them (?) I know I still do.

Do you by chance have those live tracks from the Seven Seas EP?-- or could tell me where to find them. I used to have them but my vinyls all gone now (sad). They must have appeared on CD at some point.

I remember bongos ...

hi daddy, recently discovered your site and naturally have been addicted since day one. GREAT MUSICAL TASTE. not everything is to my liking, ie. faith no more, but everything else is spot on! classic reggae, punk--i love it!!!

i have one minor thing to note to you regarding this echo link. i've downloaded part 2 a couple of times now and there are a few tunes which keep coming up as corrupt:
13_The Killing Moon (All Night Version)
15_Angels And Devils [b-side Silver]
16_Bring On The Dancing Horses
17_My Heart Is Overflowing (unreleased, '85 Sessions)
18_Fuel (Live, Peppermint Lounge '82)

if you could look into or reup it would be appreciated. and no, not everyone has the box set, so this is an awesome find for me.

hope you're doing better and dealing with your personal issues okay. remember, you've got your legions of blog fans behind you.

Thanks for this. I haven't got the Crystal Days box set either, so this is great. Thanks for the Bowie downloads too.
