Aston 'Family Man' Barrett - Family Man In Dub
Pity on the fool swho don't know who this cat is. The Family Man was the bass slapping genius that formed part of the haaard rhythm section of The Wailers (with his brother Carlton) that helped Bob Marley's music sound so sweet. Any fan of reggae and especially dub should give this one a twirl. Classic, rootsy dubbing and grooves that deserve much praise and attention. The list of players and producers on this joint reads like a Jamaican Hall Of Fame listing, for example - Peter Tosh, Bob Marley, Robbie Shakespeare, Carlton Barrett, Earl Wire Lindo and Bunny Wailer. That is one of the best line-ups I have ever seen available on ANY record. Now, if this man could bring together this many luminaries of reggae - the least you can do is listen and understand, right? You won't regret.
