Mojo Magazine Presents - Blues Power

I have been a late listener to the blues. The recording quality always seemed so poor and all the rich (and generally white) people who lauded it's virtues always seemed to me to be disingenuous. I also realized that, like any genre, it has piles of crap to sift through to find the few gems that justify it's lip service from it's most notable fans. So, imagine my genuine delight when finding this little disc here with what I have found to be some of the best and most broadly-appealing gems of the blues. I have never read Mojo magazine but they have put out some awesomely well-done compilations and it makes me want to take a trip to Barnes & Noble to check the magazine racks. I have also significantly filled out my blues collection, so fear not if you are a fan - you will not be left out!

Hello,
This is why they call the "Blues", roots music. The stuff contemporary bands play wouldn't be possible without this music. Three chords and an attitude with and an acoustic guitar is what started this thing we call "Rock".
Listen to early "Howlin' Wolf" if you want distortion, and all in the Sun Studios where Elvis sanitized the sound....
Go for it....................
