Various Artists - Trash! The Roots Of Punk 1976 (Mojo Magazine)
You gotta love Mojo Magazine - although I have never read a single issue I can't get enough of their great compilations. If I ran a magazine these are the kinds of things I would love to give readers. Although some of these tracks pre-date 1976, the spirit is what they are intending to represent and they most certainly do it here. I highly recommend this little collection if you have any curiosity about early punk rock and maybe someday I will make a compilation where it all went wrong (typical old man complaint). Until then get some clothespins and put them somewhere painful and break out that eyeliner (it worked for Iggy).

07. Kilburn & The Hugh Roads - Rough Kid
08. Dr Feelgood - Riot In Cell Block No. 9

Looks like a nice compilation. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the share. Like you I rarely read the mag, but boy can they assemble great comps.
Cheers, SamIam
This got me thinking, one could compile "the best punk songs of" every year from 1972 - 1982. Hmm, perhaps I should work on that...
good songs, but strange no 60's punk? May they meant the "immediate" (close at hand)roots of punk.
no "Lost Innocence" by The Buddhas
"Exit 9" By The Heard
"I'm What You Are" Jason Merrick & The Finders etc...
