The Doors - Original Demo's At World Pacific Jazz Studios September 2, 1965

Here is a disc rarely seen and long-rumored to have disappeared. These first sessions don't have the Doors we all grew to love and hate. Ray Manzarek's 2 brothers handle some of the instrumental duties on these tracks and were not to be heard from again, apparently they didn't like the direction the music was heading towards. These sound about as good as we can reasonably expect from the era and prior to the wondrful addition of Robby Krieger. My favorite thing about demo's from great bands is the awesome feeling you get when you hear something that seperates the band from whatever else is coming out at that time. The 'spark' that ignites them and leads them along in their career and later, often burns them up completely. As I have grown older and matured I find myself less and less in awe of Jim Morrison and his 'poetry', but their really good songs are among the best of their time. So pop this one in and enjoy the 60's goodness and, for God's sake - don't drop the brown acid.

1. Hello I Love You
2. Summer's almost Gone
3. End Of the Night
4. Moonlight Drive
5. My Eyes Have Seen You
6. Go Insane

Contay - I'd have posted the shorter link if that's the primary one I wanted used. The idea is to have at least one more little bit of protection for my links so they don't get killed as fast.
