David Bowie - BBC Concerts UK 1969-1972

This is a tough one to find accurate information on, folks. I have had it for a few years but have never found it listed in Bowie's releases and bootlegs. It seems like it may have had something to do with the proposed (and ultimately, pulled from distribution) Bowie BBC 3 disc set that Bowie eventually released himself. The tracks do not match up and there is no interviews on this so who knows? One thing for sure - it's Bowie and it kicks ass. 14 tracks that include some of my all-time Bowie favorites like 'Wild-Eyed Boy From Freecloud', 'I'm Waiting For The Man' and 'Rock & Roll Suicide'. Hope you enjoy the disc and, as always, much more Bowie in the future.

1. White Light, White Heat
2. Let Me Sleep Beside You
3. Unwashed and Somewhat Slightly Dazed
4. Wild-Eyed Boy From Freecloud
5. Bombers
6. Almost Grown
7. Kooks
8. Superman
9. Ziggy Stardust
10. Five Years
11. Starman
12. Rock & Roll Suicide
13. Hang Onto Yourself
14. I'm Waiting For The Man

Thanks for this - Hunky Doy was my first proper grown-up album - where I began to understand the concept of a collection of songs from one artist rather than the single charts and a whole host of competing sounds. I remember thinking, 'why isn't 'Kooks' a single'? Lovely to hear it in such a raw stae. Raw but still sweet.

Ta very much.

You are quite right, keving about 'kooks' - it is a damn beautiful song for a child to know they're dad wrote about them.

Anyone seeking the full 9-song version of the 1971 BBC In Concert, from where the Bombers, looking for a friend and kooks, are taken, it's here at this link, and the quality is PERFECT.. no hiss, just clear sound.

Don't confuse "Peel Session" in the title with any John Peel studio sessions.. this is the live concert from the BBC's In Concert program MC'd by John Peel.

I've had so many shitty copies of this over the years.. and it's complete, too.. no fading on the last track, etc..

Ok, I say "complete".. there WAS one more song performed at the session but it was never broadcast and the BBC destroyed the master tapes... sigh...

Well.. don't just sit there, go grab it :)
