Bushspeak : The Curious With & Wisdom of George W. Bush
I have had this little nugget for a while here and have had many laughs from it. It's the strangest kinds of laughs, though. I believe the sheer fact that I find him hilarious and dangerous will inform all who read that I did not vote for this man. How he got where he is and what history will make of him are a mystery to me. The world is a much worse place for his having been here is the only epitaph that comes to mind. I have been hesitant to post this for fear of losing some good friends that don't care for music blogs mixed with politics. Fear not, dear readers, this will be my first and final foray into the sticky mess of political blogging. I feel the best I can do is let this fool speak for himself. Also - everyone get off your collective ass and vote in every possible election you can and maybe this kind of man will not be given such power in the future.

don't be afraid to voice your opinion my friend, that is how he has thrived, that is how the tom delays, the duke cunnuinghams and bob neys and all of the corrupt repukes have been able to thrive in the so called land of the free, the opposition has been afraid to to offend and have remained silent. for christ sake the right doesn't have a problem with screaming to the top of their lungs and then cry and whine if their opposition speak out against them, like hollywood stars and musicians don't have the right to voice their opinion. look at the dixie chicks, but the right wing idiots in nashville scream out. face it politics is life and life is politics. unless you want to lay down and forget life, lift up your voice and be heard.

MAKE MUSIC.....NOT WAR
I will never visit your site again.
Well, except for tomorrow and every day after that...
Glad to have such open-minded people visit here. Isn't it a bit narrow-minded to call oneself a 'Republican', 'Democrat', 'Conservative' or 'Liberal'? I find myself falling into so many diverse categories that I refuse to be known as one thing. Ah well, enough opining and politicizing - more music to come tonight!

This is a very scary time, isn't it?
The Interwebs are great.

Art can no longer be isolated from such insanity. It will spill out into the streets. Our everday activities will become ever more political, as more and more activities and means of discourse become illegal. Our moron president is the real threat to freedom and democracy. If we get a larf out of his mispronunciations and malapropisms, all the better.
And don't feel like you have to apologize for what you want to do (or how you feel like expressing yourself) on your own blog.
I'm GLAD to see a political comment in a quality music blog, and I'm relieved to see that it's an anti-Bush comment. In other words, you've demonstrated that you're a reasonable person. Saddam, the Taliban, Al Qaeda - they're all evil. Yet, so is Bush. He simply operates in a different environment...

My sincere hope (since I have international travelling plans for the future) is that the rest of the world sees him for the idiot that he obviously is and commiserates with the rest of America that DIDN'T vote for him. Fools like him may make us all look bad and I don't want people I meet when I do eventually go to Europe to think I am in any way like him or his constituency. Shudder.
I'm not an American, but I've read all there is to read on these issues, and been involved in them too, I mean I was almost called up to fight in Vietnam myself (we had soldiers there too you know, in fact despite your belief in all-powerful America I think we Australians started the Vietnam war and dragged you into it, but your acadmeics have blinkers on).
AND I don't get it. Clinton? I saw the guy lying on TV with my own eyes. Kerry? He lied to the world about alleged atrocities in Vietnam which never happened. Looks like he committed a war crime himself, which was his single act of 'bravery' - shooting an unarmed man.
We know you Yanks. You saved us from the evil Japanese army in WWII. Who fully deserved 2 nukes btw, which is all that would stop them. Yanks are good people.
So what gives now? Are you guys going nuts? There's plenty of evil in the world without America, and without America it will be much much worse.
Much of the world has been brainwashed by lefty ideologues, say in India and Europe. Young people therefore haven't a clue. They've been misled.
Will you ignore the voices who disagree with you?
thanks for this - cant wait to play it for friends
when clinton lied nobody died!
I don't get you rightly, Aussie - I always listen. When you ask "Will you ignore the voices who disagree with you?" are you referring to me? I am smart to enough to know that I am wrong quite often and will shift my opinion according to what I feel is most right based upon my own personal knowledge of things - which includes welcoming any oppostion view that could open my eyes. Hopefully you weren't referring to me, after all.

Thank You aussie!
I'm not hardcore yet I tend to lean right politically. My problem is with those that are brainwashed on the left and right who just can't seem to get past political partisanship.
Amen, brother.
Never ever hesitate to speak out; it's un-patriotic to NOT voice your dissenting views and dissatisfaction with our government for fear of reprisals.
The freedom to do so is what makes this country and its ideals great, regardless of whatever misguided policies a few corrupt and evil men may attempt to implement...
Damn...
