Elvis Presley - G.I. Blues Collectors Edition

I believe I have already given my opinion on Elvis here, right? Well, to summarize - I appreciate him more as a cultural milestone than as a singer (he wasn't much of a musician), but I do not wish to slight those who may be great fans of his. We may just have to agree to disagree. I DO believe the burgeoning rock and roll movement took a swift kick in the nuts as soon as he was drafted into service for the Army and sent to Germany. If not for Johnny Cash and Carl Perkins and a few others, it may have extinguished altogether before reaching it's fruition. So, for me, this is one of the more bearable Elvis offerings and is offered as an answer to a request. Please understand that I do read all of the e-mails and comments and would love to fill all the requests and such but I have a backlog of about 200 requests and will get to them as my time allows. I hope htere are some fans out there who do not already have this one and it pleases their ears. Peace.

Depeche Mode - Black Celebration Deluxe Edition Bonus DVD (live Tracks)

No, I didn't post the whole shebang on this one, sorry. I am trying to not to draw as much attention to myself as in the past. This post will only contain the bonus DVD tracks from the awesome Deluxe Package of one of their greatest albums. Mainly because of the dearth of decent sounding live shows of this era from the band, I always love to hear anything resembling a soundboard live show. I may even put some of the better-sounding bootlegs up here if anyone is interested. Always a great show from these fellows. So everyone put on black clothes and your Dr. Martens and alooowly sway back and forth, whilst chanting. "Let's have a Blaaaaaaaack Celllllabratioooooon tooooooonight." If you were a child of the early 1980's, Oh the memories this one will bring back. Whew. Actually I have a few interesting Depeche Mode gems that I will be putting here, I have many regular visitors here who have requested a few. So, I hope you all enjoy.

12. Black Celebration (Live Birmingham 86) (bonus track)
13. Question Of Time (Live Birmingham 86) (bonus track)
14. Stripped (Live Birmingham 86) (bonus track)
15. Shake The Disease (bonus track)
16. Flexible (bonus track)
17. It's Called A Heart (bonus track)
18. Fly On The Windscreen (bonus track)
19. But Not Tonight (bonus track)
20. Breathing In Fumes (bonus track)
21. Black Day (bonus track)
22. Christmas Island (bonus track)

Bob Marley & The Wailers - Burnin '(Deluxe 2 Disc Edition)

I try my best not to put albums up here that are easily available in stores, but this one has proven a bit elusive in stores for friends of the Ape - and we all know DaddyRich will provide when he can. Especially if it's some classic reggae, right? This one contains the classic album by itself on disc one and the legendary Leeds concert in 1973 that shows the band in mighty fine form - that was once only available as an inferior-quality bootleg. Although it may seem a little downbeat at times (throughout, basically) it has stood the test of time and contains the zenith of the magic triumvirate's song skills (Marley, Tosh & Livingston, for those who don't know) - just look at the track listing, my friends and marvel at the collection of classics; 'Burnin' & Lootin'' , 'Small Axe', 'Rastaman Chant', 'Get Up, Stand Up', 'Duppy Conqueror'.....Wow.

INXS - Kick (Special Edition Japan Import)

With thanks to the great Mokeys for sharing this one. I love this band, of course and rarely have seen the lovely obi-strip upon their works. The obi always guaranteed a huge increase in price at Rhino or Mad Platter so, more often than not, I just fondled the package and walked out with a copy of the NME. Sigh. The good old days - thank God for the sharing communities on the internet, let's keep the kindness coming. I would love to add thanks here to all the good people (from around the world!) who have left links and suggestions in the comments. What we have here is a great little share from my friends at the Island Of Misfit Toys and a new one to me. Hopefully a few of you will be seeing this for the first time as well.

Sublime - S/T 10th Anniversary Deluxe Edition

Damn, they did make the reggae music sound so sweet - as well as the thrash, acousti and surf music. Everything Sublime touched (to my ears) they made better and they are sorely missed. I won't go into a rant about dumbasses doing heroin and leaving young children behind because I shouldn't have to. This is as close as some of us will get to 'Killin' It or How I Spent My Summer Vacation', the original title for the album that became the self titled masterpiece we al know and love. Listen and enjoy and stay away from the hard stuff, kids.

Disc: 1
1. Trenchtown Rock
2. Doin' Time (Original Mix)

Morrissey - Viva Hate (EMI Centenary Edition)

Since the most popular download thus far has been the Interesting Drug EP I figured I'd hit you with this one as a follow-up. The Viva Hate album released in 1988 was a personal fave at the time but any self-respecting Smiths or Morrissey fan was far more concerned with gathering the singles as they were released moreso that the albums. So, as enjoyable as this is (in it's original format) there was much more joy to be had from the 'Suedehead' and 'Every Day Is Like Sunday' singles with their respective bonus tracks. EMI tried to right this previous wrong by releasing an anniversary edition with some extra bells and whistles that prove to be interesting additions indeed. The album includes these along with the original track listing...

bonus tracks:
Let the Right One Slip In
Pashernate Love
At Amber
Disappointed (live)
Girl Least Likely To
I'd Love To (UK version)
Michael's Bones
I've Changed My Plea To Guilty (UK version)

p.s It's a large file so I hope by now you boys and girls have purchased your Rapidshare Premium accounts (they sure do come in handy). Also, I will be posting 'The Viva Hate Outtakes' this week as well to make a tasty 3 disc set of this classic album. Play on players....

Tears For Fears - The Hurting (Expanded Edition)

A blast from the early 1980's that still sounds good today. Fans of the Donnie Darko movie may recall having heard the song 'Mad World' sung by another singer on the soundtrack - Gary Jules. Many good cuts here and, in my humble opinion, every bit as good as their smash 'Songs From The Big Chair'. Hope you enjoy.
