Ren & Stimpy - Crock O' Christmas


This is what I get for uploading this weeks ago - every blog has already posted it themselves. I get lazy in my old age here, folks. Regardless of my bad sense of timing and age-induced infirmities I present this gift to you. It's probably no secret that I was a big fan of Ren & Stimpy for a few years (they lost me when they fired the great Mr. Kricfalusi) and it was a breath of fresh air in an otherwise stale phase for animation and cartoons in general. We would not see another show with this level of inspired genius until the advent of Spongebob Squarepants. Such great work and Mr. Kricfalusi is still getting it done the right way and keeping a high profile on the web at his own blog - highly recommended reading/viewing. So, please play this and offend everyone who has any holdiay-related sensitivites. Merry Yaksmus, Merry Yaksmus to us all....

Various Artists - Newest Nicktoons


Okay, so none of these are really 'new' Nicktoons anymore but it's got some great stuff on it. At one time or another I have been ensconced on a couch with at least one of my boys enjoying these shows. Those of us here without kids will definitely want to skip this one. This one is for errie who has been so kind in remembering to send thanks for all the kids discs. I really miss some of these shows that they no longer air - like Hey Arnold and CatDog. The Carl Stalling Project: Music From Warner Bros. Cartoons, 1936-1958


It may come as a big surprise that besides loving music, comic books and things of that nature that I am also something of a classic animation nut. Even before I had children I still would watch a classic Chuck Jones or Bob Clampett cartoon if they were on since I already knew they were great - opposed to any of the (mostly) other crap on television. So, it comes naturally that I have fond memories of the music as well. For most of us born after 1970, Warner Brothers cartoons may have been our only outlet for any kind of symphonic music. I know it was for me, at least. I still have very little patience for "classical" music or symphonies, unless there is a cartoon playing at the same time. A perfect marrieage of image and sound.... ahhhh. Anyways, here is the first of a 2 part project to honor the genius of Carl Stalling and the work he did in his career for the Brothers Warner and I hope you will enjoy it even half as much as I do.

Spidey - Super Stories


Anyone who knows me can tell you that I am quite the comic book geek and I am fine with that. This is one of those Marvel Comics "Adenture Records" from the 1970's which play pretty much like a cartoon without the television. Many of us who were young children in the 1970's did not have televisions in our rooms so this was as close as many of us got. It's 2 great things in one - Spidey and Vinyl!!! You cannot go wrong.
